What is ChanceChat about?


John, a 25 year old male wants to chat with a 18-25 year old female.		He comes to ChanceChat, and requests a chat session.		Around the same time, Jane, a 23 year old female requests a chat session with a 18-25 year old male.		John and Jane are connected together, and enjoy each other's company on ChanceChat.

ChanceChat is another way to connect randomly to people all over the world. You can come on ChanceChat to chat instantly with interesting people, just input some of your information (like age and gender), and narrow your search for your chat partner, and if someone is on the system that matches your criteria, you will instantly be connected to that person.

How much does it cost to chat?

Nothing. Nada. Zip. It's free!

Is it really private?

Yes! No one is monitoring your chat sessions, and they aren't logged or saved. In the future, we may allow you to publish your chat sessions online for the world to see, if both parties agree, if you believe a session is particularly interesting, cool, or plain funny!

How is ChanceChat different from other chat applications (Skype, MSN, AIM, IRC)?

The idea behind ChanceChat is to make instant connections with strangers all over the world instantly! These other chat applications are a good way to keep connected with people you already know, or to chat with groups of strangers. ChanceChat lets you chat privately one-on-one randomly, instantly, and easily with the perfect stranger! No waiting for downloads, registrations, and java applications to load!

Can I chat in a different language?

Yes! Any languages supported by IE, Firefox, Safari, or Opera is supported by ChanceChat.

Can I search people by geographical location, and other preferences?

We know that many of our users want the ability to narrow their searches for random chat partners further. While ChanceChat is in beta, as the user base grows, we will add further search capabilities. However, to minimize wait times for chat partner searches, we have only elected to support gender and age searches at the time. We expect to add more search criteria in the very near future.

What should we chat about?

Anything the two of you consent to! To maintain the integrity of ChanceChat and the community it serves, we ask that you keep the conversation PG-13, unless both parties consent.

Is there a limit to how long we can talk?

Not really. As long as the server is online, and your internet connection is open, you should be able to chat as long as you'd like. But get your sleep and eat three square meals a day.

The other person isn't responding, what happened?

He or she might have disconnected before even getting started. Reload the page by clicking on the ChanceChat logo at the top left corner of the screen to connect with another random chat partner.

Can I chat with more than one person at a time?

Absolutely! Just open another browser window and point it to http://www.chancechat.com.
